Pronouns - Short Words for People and Things
Pronouns are small words we use instead of names. They make our sentences shorter and easier!
Instead of: "Maria likes Maria's dog."
We say: "Maria likes her dog." or "She likes her dog."
Subject Pronouns
Subject pronouns are used when the person DOES something:
Examples:
- I play football.
- She reads a book.
- They go to school.

Object Pronouns
Object pronouns are used when something happens TO the person:
Examples:
- Can you help me?
- I like her.
- The teacher talked to us.

Examples:

✏️Example: Subject or Object?
Choose the right pronoun: "Tom is my friend. ____ plays with ____ every day."
"Tom is my friend. He plays with me every day."
Why?
- "He" - Tom does the action (playing), so subject pronoun
- "me" - I receive the action (being played with), so object pronoun
