Du skal skrive en melding om at du kommer for sent til en avtale. Hvordan tilpasser du meldingen til ulike mottakere?
To a teacher (semi-formal):
"Hi Ms. Johnson, I apologize but I'll be about 20 minutes late to our meeting due to traffic. I hope this doesn't cause any inconvenience."
To a job interviewer (formal):
"Dear Mr. Smith, I regret to inform you that I will arrive approximately 20 minutes later than scheduled due to unexpected traffic conditions. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding."
Key differences:
- Vocabulary complexity increases
- Sentence length and structure change
- Level of formality in apology varies
- Contractions disappear in formal register
Identify the register (formal, semi-formal, or informal):
"Gonna grab some coffee, wanna come?"
"I would like to request an extension on the assignment deadline."
"Thanks for the feedback, I'll work on improving those areas."
Rewrite the following informal sentence in formal register:
"The meeting was a total waste of time."
"You gotta do this by Friday or else."
"I messed up big time on the test."
Match the communication strategy with the correct example:
"So if I understand correctly, you want us to focus on quality over quantity?"
"It's that thing you use to open bottles - it has a spiral metal part..."
Nodding while someone speaks and then asking a follow-up question

Refrigerator
Procrastination
Democracy
